One Deck to Rule Them All!

I'm issuing a deck challenge!  We are all to make Nicky B decks.  Interdimensional showdown!

  1. how are we going to decide the winner? Simply so wins a multiplayer game?

  2. We can have a few metrics to determine the king among kings.

  3. I think 1 metric should be based on use of abilities on nicol bolas, planeswalker. So for example everytime you use the first ability you get plus 2 to your score. You get plus 4 for the second ability, and plus 8 for the last ability. This way using all the abilities is promoted. Conversely, winning the game itself will add a certain amount as well. So what metrics where you thinking about?

  4. How about creativity, power, durability and speed?

Also bonus points if your deck has more common/uncommon than rares.

  5. sounds good but how do you accurately measure these things?

  6. You should get bonus points proportional to how many turns it takes you to play him. :)

  7. I propose a test-athalon where each players' deck goes through multiple matches, each against a 'staple' deck (such as Eli's Goblin deck). Each deck would emphasize a certain category (speed, endurance, creature-focus, non-creature focus etc). In the end, achievements are given out such as "Fastest deck" or "Worst deck ever" etc.

You could also have free for all multiplayer (as well as team play) to decide on the best multiplayer deck. In general have multiple categories you could win at instead of just one best-overall award.

As far as the specific metrics go, they should be created for each category. For example, for the fastest deck challenge, one such metric could be how long it takes you to play NB as well as how long it took to kill the other player after playing the card. Activity based metrics that Eli suggested are also good.

  8. This may take awhile, but the question is, do we all want to play our Nicky B decks at once? That would almost seem silly, but at the same time you would at least have a way of clearing an opponents NB without exhausting all your might :P
